The Bourne Identity

The Bourne Identity (2002) • PG-13

Rotten Tomatoes: 83%

IMDB: 7.9 / 10

Based on the 1980 novel by Robert Ludlum. Jason Bourne is discovered in the sea by fishermen, inflicted with wounds, suffering from amnesia. He follows a series of clues to discover who he is and is quickly embroiled in a sophisticated spy game.

OUR TAKE: Featuring intriguing CIA conspiracies, old-school espionage techniques, and classic tropes like mysterious safety deposit boxes containing multiple passports and currencies, The Bourne Identity is a collection of enjoyable, albeit fanciful, spy moments. What it portrays very well is the complex intelligence agency hierarchies and chains of command that can potentially, inadvertently, make simple operations far more troublesome than originally intended. A fun watch.
