Snowden (2016) • R
Rotten Tomatoes: 61%
IMDB: 7.3 / 10
The personal story of Edward Snowden, a former CIA employee and NSA contractor who, in 2011, leaked thousands of classified documents relating to government mass surveillance.
OUR TAKE: This biopic of Edward Snowden is very engaging but not without flaws. Oliver Stone's film feels as if it portrays Snowden as he would wish the world to see him. Most definitely inaccurate when describing how the NSA operates (for example, its chain of command), the film nonetheless gives us insight into a complicated story and delves into the paranoia and anxieties that plague Snowden’s day-to-day life.
