This week we focus on six celebrity secrets…

Natural Born Killer

Art imitates reality, and reality imitates art. For Woody Harrelson, star of Natural Born Killers, it’s a bit of both. Woody’s father, Charles Harrelson was a mob hitman convicted of assassinating federal judge John H. Wood Jr, the first federal judge to be killed in the 20th century. He was also rumoured to have been involved in the assassination of JFK.

Actor by day, Avenger by night!

Apart from starring in Riverdale and 24, actress Marisol Nichols has revealed that for the past six years she’s secretly worked undercover with agents from the FBI, Operation Underground Railroad, and local law enforcement to serve as the 'bait' for sting operations domestically and internationally, hunting child sex predators.

Spidey skills from a young age

Spiderman star Andrew Garfield was unknowingly training for the role of Spiderman his entire life. He was a competitive gymnast ranked third in the south of England for floor routines and vault. Maybe not Olympics material, but as it turns out pretty useful as a future web-slinger!

And while we're talking Spiderman

Another actor who played Spiderman, Tobey McGuire, also has another set of skills, although his may be higher paid. McGuire is well known as a high-stakes poker player, and was portrayed in Aaron Sorkin’s directorial debut, Molly’s Game, as Player X - not very flatteringly it must be said!

From Hollandaise to Shark Repellent

Famed for bringing French cuisine to the American public, Julia Child (played by Meryl Streep in Julie and Julia) led a secret life beyond cooking. Towards the end of WW2 Child volunteered her services to the OSS, forerunner of today’s CIA, where she worked directly for General William J. Donovan, traveled extensively in Asia, and even cooked up a secret recipe for shark repellent!

And another Child

With Tom Cruise out and Alan Ritchson in - Jack Reacher is still a hugely successful franchise. But, did you know that the author’s nom de plume was picked for a very specific reason? Lee Child (real name James Grant) chose the name Child to ensure his books sat on shelves between crime fiction legends Raymond Chandler and Agatha Christie!

And one more thing... We're open again - come and have fun!

New York City’s #1 Rated New Museum & Experience (according to Google and Tripadvisor) is back! SPYSCAPE HQ has reopened to a great reception and, for a limited period, general admission tickets will now include FREE admission (normally $23) to 007xSPYSCAPE, the first official 007 exhibition in NYC.
