An FBI agent, working for the incident response department, accepts a role with the Department of Justice special joint task force, thinking she will be able to stop dangerous Mexican drug cartels. However, she quickly begins to question both the purpose of the task force and the motivations of the people pulling its strings.

OUR TAKE: While Sicario’s main focus is the war on drugs and the tensions of the US/Mexico border, classic spy elements come into play nicely, namely the secrets and dubious agendas potentially held by certain government officials. We’re shown various layers of distrust and dishonesty, with social engineering playing a starring role in this exciting, mysterious film.
